Chico Enterprise Record, Wednesday, May 26, 1976: "Elsie Hobson. Services for Elsie Ethel Hobson, 78, of Ord Ferry Stage will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of the Brusie Funeral Home. She died Tuesday in a local hospital.

"Born July 4, 1897, in Montage, Okla., to George and Catherine Loomis, she came to Chico in 1919 and had lived here ever since. For the past 20 years she had been active in almond ranching. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, the Women's Missionary Society, Libby Circle No. 4, the Thimble Club and Senior Citizens of Chico.

"Survivors include a son, Randall Michael Reaves of Chico, a brother Ralph Loomis of White Pines, Calaveras County; a sister, Bessie Bowie of Sentinel, Okla., and three grandchildren.

"Dr. Carl Walker of the Trinity United Methodist Church will officiate at the services with Joyce Bae as organist. Interment will be in the Chico Cemetery with Atherton Quint, Crit Murray, David Wurschmidt, Alfred W. Jackson, Paul Jackson, and Charles Taggart as casketbearers."
