Mrs. Marlie F. Jonas
Mrs. Malinda Catherine Bowers Jones, 63, o Rt. 4, Galax, died at her home Thursday, February 25, 1965.
She was born in Wythe County February 22, 1902, to Albert Bowers and wife.
Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Swanson Jones, Fries; Mrs. Gene Ward, Independence; Mrs. June Isom and Mrs. Edgar Pack, both of Galax, and Mrs. Imogene Patton and Mrs. Jack Duncan, both of Mount Airy, N. C.; three sons, Kilbert Jones, Greensboro, N. C., and M. F. Jones and Sherman Jones, both of Mount Airy, N. C.; three sisters, Mrs. Ollie Rotenberry, Hillsville; Mrs. Curlen Ayers, Ivanhoe, and Mrs. Rachel Linville, Mount Airy, N. C., and four brothers, Henry Bowers, Detroit, Mich.; Harden Bowers, Ivanhoe, and Joe Bowers and Walter Bowers, both of Fieldale.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p. m. Saturday, February 27, at Mt. Hope Methodist Church, on the Fries Circuit, by the Rev. Ben C. Lyons, pastor of the church, and the Rev. Billy L. Byrd, pastor of the Wytheville Circuit.
Interment was in the church cemetery.
The body was moved Friday afternoon from Vaughan - Guynn Funeral Home, Galax, to the residence, where it rested until time for removal to be placed in the church at the time for the services.
