Mr. George Donald Durden Jr. 40, of Griffin, Ga., and Berlin, Germany, died Sunday, July 14, 2002, in Berlin, Germany. As a young boy, George lived in Brooklet with his paternal grandparents, the late John Leon and Lucile Durden, where he attended grammar school and the First Baptist Church. George was a self-employed painter.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Eveline and Gerhard Jaedtke of Berlin, Germany, and Naples, Fla.; sister, Jennifer Lynn McDonald; nieces, Samantha and Page McDonald of Clearwater, Fla.; aunts and uncles, Sara Durden Jimmerson of Griffin, Ga., Margie and Bob Brinson of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; uncles and aunts, John Leon and Lorine Durden, Robert and Marie Durden of Rincon and Marion Durden of Springfield; good friends, Regine, Benjamin, Alexander, Ray and Roy Hoffman of Berlin, Germany; and several cousins. Mr. Durden was preceded in death by his father, George Donald Durden Sr. of Griffin.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Brooklet City Cemetery in Brooklet with Elder Mike Newman officiating.
