John's obit as it was published in the Yuma Daily Sun, September 10, 1969:

John Carroll Power, 74-year-old retired Yuma Valley rancher and former secretary of the Yuma County Water Users Association, died yesterday in a local rest home, it was announced at the Johnson Mortuary.

He was born in Seymour, Texas, Nov. 10, 1886 and came to Yuma about 60 years ago. He was a member of the Valley Baptist Church

Surviving are six sons, J.W.(Jesse Wilbur), L.O.(Lee Owen), W.S.(William Saxton), and R.O.(Robert Oliver) Power of Yuma, K.L.(Kenneth Lionel) of Silver Bell, Ariz., and C.W.(Curtis Wendell) of Alaska; a daughter, Mrs. Harold Fowler of Yuma; a sister, Mrs. E. D. Hightower of Yuma; and five brothers, J.F., Albert and Ernest Power of Yuma; R.H. of San Diego and N. Power of Chloride, Ariz.

Funeral services will be held at the Johnson Chapel Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. H. V. Nickel officiating. Interment will follow in Yuma Cemetery beside his wife.
