John Wesley Taylor Jr., 87, a retired farmer of the Piney Forest community near Andrews, died Wednesday in a Charleston hospital.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday at Piney Forest Baptist Church near Andrews. Burial will be in Piney Forest Cemetery, directed by Mayer Funeral Home.

Mr. Taylor was born Dec. 6, 1887, in Cross comminity of Berkeley County, a son of the late John Welsey Taylor and Annie Murray Taylor. He was a member of Piney Forest Baptist Church.

Surviving are: two sons, Daniel W. Taylor and Wilson J. Taylor, both of Andrews; two daughters, Mrs. Carrie T. Browder of St. Stephen and Mrs. Mildred T. Tisdale of Andrews; two brothers, Murray M. Taylor of Cross and Clifford O. Taylor of Holly Hill; eight sisters, Mrs. Nettie T. Hudson, Mrs. Pauline T. Moore, Mrs. Alro T. Powell, Mrs. Thelma T. Southwick, and Mrs. Leno T. Loy, all of North Charleston, Mrs. Lula T. Tisdale of Kingstree, Mrs. Wilma T. Bair of Eloree, and Mrs. Lettie T. Guinn of Lamar; 12 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild.
