Mrs. Faye K. "Babe" Long, age 81 of Crockett, formerly of Houston, passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2004 in the east TX Medical Center-Crockett. Mrs. Long was born May 16, 1923 in Weldon and had been living in Houston for many years. Mrs. Long was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Lovelady and had worked for Hardware World and was also a member of the Wood Forest Baptist Church in Houston.
Survivors include her step-children Porter Long, Jr., of Houston, Mildred Long Burton and husband Billy, of Conroe; grandchildren Jerry Buckner and Pam Whitehead, both of Dickinson; brother F. B. "Lefty" Harrelson and wife Grace, of Weches; sister Ernest Harton, of Rosanky; numerous step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Preceded in death by her husband Porter Newman Long, Sr.; daughter Patricia Buckner; grandson Kenneth Buckner; parents Christopher Columbus and Annie Higginbotham Harrelson; eight sisters; and six brothers.
Funeral services for Mrs. Faye K. "Babe" Long were held Thursday, December 23, at 1:00 p.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Roger Craiker officiating. Interment followed in the Rockland Cemetery. Callaway-Allee Funeral Home
