Arthur D. Wirey, 76, passed away Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin. He was a resident of Franklin.
He was born Dec. 19, 1934, in Franklin, to Floyd and Margaret (Ellis) Wirey.
He is survived by one sister, Delores Wirey Bowling of Indianapolis; a good friend, Rosie Carroll of Franklin; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in passing by his parents; two brothers, Wendell and Francis Wirey; and a sister, Betty Jean Sloane.
He was a graduate of Trafalgar High School.
Arthur was employed by Davis Lumber, retiring after many years of service.
He was a member of Mount Carmel Church for several years. Arthur enjoyed traveling.
The Rev. Cleon Wright will conduct a celebration of life service at 1 p.m. Monday at Flinn & Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St., (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
