Bethana was the daughter of Jeremiah Woolard and Sarah Church of Beaufort County, North Carolina. Jeremiah was the son of John Woolard and Elizabeth Vines, also of North Carolina. Jeremiah's youngest brother was Willoughby Wollard, father to Churchhill (of Maury Co., TN) and William Ross Wollard.

Bethana and Thomas Walker and family migrated to Polk Co., MO with other families, Church, Fox, and Wakefield from Maury Co., TN. Coming at the same time were the Wollard and Potts families. These Wollard families included Washington M. Wollard, son of Churchhill and his uncle William Ross Wollard. This was approximately 1839. They settled in the area near the future town of Fair Play. Sometime between 1848 and 1850, Thomas Walker took his youngest son and returned to Maury Co., TN.

*Bethana and Thomas are the fourth great-grandparents of Julie Wollard Trout. Washington Wollard is the third great-grandfather of Julie. The family history was recorded by Washington Wollard in the late 1800s before his death in 1903.*
