DAVID E. RYAN SERVICE HELD
Rites conducted at St. Joseph's Church
Funeral services for David E. Ryan, 70, who died Tuesday, were held Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. P.J. Malone, celebrant of the mass. Msgr. Malone also gave the sermon and a eulogy of Mr. Ryan's life. Also in the sanctuary were Father Robert Swift, Oelwein, and Father Robert E. Chambers and Father John Reed, Mason City.
Altar boys were two grandchildren, David and Jerry Hubbard, and Mike Dunn and Donald Carlson.
Mrs. Eddie Jones and Mrs. A.G. Hubbard were in charge of flowers. Ushers were Keith Rozen and Bob Johnston.
Attending the services from out of town were Miss Mary O'Connell, Washington, D.C.; Mrs. May O'Niel, Rockford; Miss Marguerite O'Niel, Rockford; Mr. and Mrs. J.N. O'Niel, Rockford; Bernard Sullivan, Rockford; Mr. and Mrs. George Fredburg, Minneapolis; John O'Niel, Armstron; Mrs. Dave Leonard, Plainview, Minn.; Mrs. Ed Ladwig, Rockwell; and many from Rockford, Nora Springs and Dougherty.
Pallbearers were Tim Phalen, Eddie Mathre, George Dunn, B.C. Sullivan, Henry Neibergall and Walter Broadbeal. Burial was at Elmwood Cemetery. The Colonial Funeral Home in charge.
