Lillie Margaret Nessmith, dau. of David Nessmith and his second wife Susan A. Lucus, and sister of Sarah Josephine "Sarah Jo" (Nessmith) Stone, b. circa 1867 at Ralls County, MO (1870 and 1880 census of her parent's family). Lillie d. circa 1902 at or near Pocola in the Choctaw Indian Territory, now LeFlore County, OK.

On an unknown date and place, Lillie m. 1) a man surnamed Lowery, whose given name may have been George. By this marriage was b. two sons who became long-time members of their subsequent stepfather's family:

• i. J.W. "Cap" Lowery, b. Dec. 24, 1886 at Ft. Smith, AR, d. July 4, 1918 at Paden, OK, unmarried and from influenza.

• ii. "Dave" Lowery, b. Feb. 18, 1893 at Braden in the Choctaw Indian Territory, now Braden, LeFlore County, OK, d. July 4, 1963 at Paden, OK; m. 1) an unknown wife who d. prior to June 1920, and 2) Pearl Latta, dau. of Thomas Latta, b. Sept. 12, 1900 in Oklahoma Territory at present-day Pottawatomie County, OK. She d. Aug. 5, 2000 at Shawnee, OK. Six children of the family.

Lillie m. 2) by early-1897 Thomas Nimrod Stone, the widower of her sister Sarah Josephine. He was the s. of John Nimrod Stone and Prudence Ann Knowles, b. Aug. 3, 1866 at Doniphan County, KS. Before her death, they had one child b. at or near Pocola in the Choctaw Indian Territory:

• iii. Bessie Stone, b. Jan. 9, 1898, the date of her death presently unknown. Bessie was twice married, but the order of the marriages is not clear even within her extended family. She is believed to have last been residing at California where she may have died. She either m. 1) Clay Briscoe and divorced, then m. 2) circa 1915 James Johnson, or m. 1) circa 1915 James Johnson, divorced, and then m. 2) Clay Briscoe, who also divorced. In the April 1930 census, Bessie and husband James Johnson were residing at Oklahoma City where they were operating a dairy farm. There are no known children of either marriage.
