Marriage Record: Timothy C. Dunaway to Mary Davis on 5 Mar 1806 in Wilkes, Georgia. Mary died before a surety bond was made between Timothy and Penelope Davis Hicks in Autauga, AL. on Dec 30, 1844. By January 1845, Timothy married his sister-in-law Penelope in a ceremony in AR.
Looking at Rev. Davis' will, which was written July 1833 then recorded February 1835, Mary was enumerated in it; yet was not mentioned in her stepmother Sarah Perkins Davis' will dated October 1835. Sarah's will only mentions her children and not any stepchildren.
Her death date would be between 1835 and 1843.
It is reasoned that Mary was buried next to her young son William on the Davis Plantation, as there was no other cemetery in the area at the time. There is no grave marker for her in this old cemetery.
