Alvah Perkins Davis was the first child of Rev. Lewis Cookson Davis and his second wife Sarah. He married Mary Ann unknown. He had a large farm next to his father's plantation and was heir to much of his father's land. The widow Mary Davis married Mr. Smith in 1851.
