Anderson B. Davis' mother, Sarah Anderson Davis, died shortly after his birth. With 8 young children, his father remarried soon and Anderson's step-mother Sarah Perkins Davis, became his mother. Anderson married Lucinda Wright in Morgan County, GA on 13 June 1820. Along with the Wright and Davis families, the newlyweds migrated to Alabama. At first, Anderson had a piece of land in Mulberry west of his father's plantation in Autauga County. Between 1830-1840, he and his family were just across the river in Lowndes County, then by 1850 they moved north to Perry County near his father-in-law, John Wright. Anderson became the tax collector of Perry County, AL and was the Justice of the Peace, preforming several marriages. The Alabama State Census of 1866 has both Anderson and his wife were alive: the death dates of the couple are unknown as their graves are no longer marked.

In the 1870 Federal Census of Perry Co, AL, there is an elderly "Anderson Jones" enumerated in the household of Lucinda Carolina Davis Jones as a widower., who was carpenter. It is believed the census taker made an error and that this is actually her father Anderson Davis, a widower. If so, his DOD would have been after the date of the census, August 27, 1870 and Lucinda would have died before this 1870 census.
