Mildred Clara Martha (Carpenter) Coughlin-Blink was born on Saturday; January 9, 1915 in Marshalltown; Marshall County, Iowa. She was the daughter of: Clyde and Ella (Arts) Carpenter. Mildred received her education in the Saint Mary's School and later graduated from the Marshalltown High School's Class of 1934. Following graduation, Mildred began working for the telephone company in Marshalltown, Iowa. On July 8, 1937, she was united in marriage to William Coughlin at Saint Mary's Catholic Church. They made their home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Mr. Coughlin passed away on Friday; March 24, 1972. On October 26, 1974, she was united in marriage to Bernard "Benny" Blink in Cedar Falls; Black Hawk County, Iowa. The couple also made Marshalltown, Iowa their home. Mrs. Blink was a member of the Saint Mary's Catholic Church and the Avenue Maria Study Club serving as one of its founding members and president. She enjoyed her home, crocheting, traveling and treasured her family. Those left to mourn her passing are: Her children: Joan (Coughlin) Studts of Marshalltown, Iowa and John Coughlin in Colorado; her daughter-in-law: Kaye Trumpp Coughlin; her five grandchildren and their families: Dr. Jamie (Tina) Studts, Shannon and Cait of Lexington; Fayette County, Kentucky, Dr. Joey (Margot) Studts, Martin and Anna in Germany, Janna (Derek) Studts Wirth, Samantha and Bailey of Madison; Dane County, Wisconsin, David (Mary) Coughlin, Claire and Danny all of Marion; Linn County, Iowa and Mark Coughlin of Denver; Denver County, Colorado, her husband Benny Blink of Glenwood Place and his children: Janice, Phil & Kathy and their families as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
