Alex Oblander, 84, 2138 7th St. Road, died Sunday, Nov. 12, in Weld County General Hospital.
He was born Dec. 6, 1893, at Millberg, Russia, to Alexander and Mary (Wollart) Oblander.
On Jan. 5, 1915, he married Katherine Stoll at Fort Collins. She died in October 1956. Then on Jan. 13, 1957, he married Mollie Meyer in Greeley.
Oblander came to the United States from Russia in 1912 and lived in the Windsor area all his life with the exception of 1931-36 when he moved to Wyoming. He was a cattle feeder and farmer.
He was a participant and also in charge of a German gospel program for a Greeley radio station for more than 15 years.
He was a charter member of the "American Historical Society of Germans from Russia" and a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran church in Windsor, where he served in every layman's capacity in the church. He later became a member of the Faith United Church of Christ.
Survivors are his wife, Mollie, two sons, Herman of Brush and Raymond of Greeley; three daughters, Mrs Reinhold (Freda) Wuest and Mrs. Carl (Alma) Roberts, both of Denver, and Mrs Esther Hergereder of Greeley.
