Heaton Halliday Sykes, 97 years young. Beloved son of the late Aubrey and Ruth Sykes (nee Swallow). Dear brother of the late Aubrey, Byron (late Gloria) and Quintin (Barbara) Sykes. Loving uncle of Thomas H., Sandra, Stephen, Sueanne (Douglas) Sluis, Gary, Richard (Marlene) and Quintin Sykes, Jr. Proud great-uncle of 7 and great-great uncle to 8.

Heaton was the Vice-President of Sykes Terminal Warehouse Company and Sykes Sheet Metal Company in Chicago. A member of Lake Geneva Country Club in Wisconsin and the Saddle & Cycle Club and The Tavern Club both in Chicago. Heaton had a very blessed life. He was an avid traveler to many, many places in this beautiful world. He loved the parties at Lake Geneva Country Club and being with all his friends. He also enjoyed Oconomowoc, Wisconsin where he spent his childhood and adult years enjoying the family summer home on beautiful Lac Labelle.

He enjoyed the company of his many friends that he met while traveling and they in return traveled from all over the country to attend his parties in Chicago and Lake Geneva. His smile, wit, sense of humor and charm will be missed by all. Visitation Monday, February 7, 2011, 10:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral service 12:00 p.m. at Thornridge Funeral Home (Janusz Family Funeral Service) 15801 S. Cottage Grove Ave., four blocks North of 162nd St. (Rte. 6) Dolton/South Holland. Entombment family mausoleum, Oak Woods Cemetery.
