MATTIE LENE HAIRE
Mattie lene Moore Haire, 78, of Vardaman, Miss., died Saturday, January 10, 1998 at Hillcrest Hospital in Calhoun City, Miss., Calhoun County. She was a homemaker and a member of Rocky Mount Baptist Church. She was born January 7, 1920 to Claude Moore and Era Witt Moore.
Funeral service was Monday at 1 p.m. at Rocky Mount Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Earl Alexander and Rev. Sherman Adams officiating. Burial was in Rocky Mount Cemetery with Parker Memorial Funeral Home in charge of arrangements
Pallbearers were Marl Nevelin, Tom Mays, James Tutor, Quinton Wilkerson, Ben Galloway and Barry Haire.
Survivors include her husband, William Franklin Haire, Vardaman, Miss.; two daughters, Lou Haire Beckum, Houston, Miss., Mattie Mae Haire Shack, Memphis, Tenn.; two sons, Walter C. Haire and William S. Haire, both of Vardaman, Miss.; five sisters, Claudia Bell, Gulfport, Miss., Nelia Angle, Pittsboro, Miss., Jimmy Hawkins, Calhoun City, Miss.,Loudene Tallent and Mary Tutor, both of Vardaman, Miss.; 20 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
Notice: Mattie Lene and William took and raise Mattie Mae as their on, She is the daughter of Walter Claude and Martha Skeen Haire. She married a man name Shack and moved to Memphis, Tenn.
