James Franklin was at home on the 1860 and 1870 Pulaski Co. census.

No record of marriage was found for James; however, the International Marriage Records of Ancestry.com list his marriage as 1875. Name of spouse was not given.

James and Jemima were on the 1880 Pulaski Co. census, ages 24 and 23, living in the Bee Lick, KY area. They were in Dwelling 160, his sister Sarah in 171, sister Emily in 199 and parents in 240. We now know, thanks to Sue Byers, Great Granddaughter of Jemima, that her name was Jemima Frances Colyer.

James and Jemima had three children on the 1880 census; Arthur E., age 4, Minnie 3 and Lizzie 1. They had three more children; Dovie M., born May 1882, Maude E. Sept. 1887 and Olie F. (female) Oct. 1889. James did not appear on the 1900 census and was therefore deceased between 1889 and 1900. No record of death or place of burial was found. His mother had died in 1882 and is buried in the Bethel Cemetery. It is possible he could be buried there in an unmarked grave. Another possibility would be the abandoned Thompson Cemetery near Bee Lick where Sarah, the sister of James, was buried in 1937.
