Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Tours. Mass of Christian Burial was recited at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Tours with Rev. Isidore Rozycki as celebrant. Burial followed at St. Martin’s Cemetery in Tours.
Mr. Vrba was born July 20, 1910 in Leroy and had lived most of his life there before moving to Tours 18 years ago. He was a retired farmer and carpenter. Mr. Vrba was a veteran of World War II having served in the Army. He was a member of St. Martin’s Catholic Church and had attended St. Martin’s School in Tours. He married Elsie Novak, August 25, 1943 in Penelope.
Survivors include his wife, of Tours; one son, Clyde Vrba of Leroy; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Uptmor of Tours and Mrs. Rosalie Stem of Chalk Bluff; two brothers, Raymond Vrba of San Antonio and Anton (Tony) Vrba of Waco; three sisters, Josephine Dvoracek of Hubbard, Helen Newman of Waco and Rita Snokhous of Leroy; eight grandchildren, Kathleen Uptmor of Stephenville, Lisa Uptmor of Dallas, Erica and Kristen Uptmor of Tours, Brian and Tracie Vrba of Leroy, Wendy and Matthew Stem of Chalk Bluff; a daughter-in-law, Debra Weissinger Vrba of Leroy; and two son-in-laws, Kenneth Uptmor of Tours and Monty Stem of Chalk Bluff.
Active pallbearers were Charlie Klanika, Alton Pratka, Dan Andrle, Douglas Snokhous, Randy Vrba and Lynwood Vrba.
Honorary pallbearers were Joe Middleton, Bill Janes, Edward Hennig, Brian Vrba, Matthew Stem and Anton Polansky.
Kotch Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
