Lizton - The funeral of Mrs. Nancy Hamilton, who died in the Beech Grove hospital, was conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Fruits, in the Methodist church Sunday afternoon. Nancy J. Hamilton, daughter of Benjamin and Jane Hocker, was born Dec. 7, 1854 and died April 29, 1927, at the age of 72 years, 4 months and 22 days. She was united in marriage to John W. Hamilton, Nov. 5, 1879. To this union were born Bert A., of Beech Grove, Bruce W., of Lizton, Bessie, Benjamin C., John Glenn, of Chicago, and Virgil F. All have preceded her in death including two infants, except Bert, Bruce and Glenn. There are also two stepdaughters, Nola and Cora Hamilton, also one sister, Miss Mary Hocker, and two brothers, John T. and Benjamin Hocker, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren left to mourn her departure. When a girl she united with the Methodist Episcopal church known as the Montgomery Chapel which stood just south of Lizton and she was a faithul worker for the church throughout all her life. Her husband, John W. Hamilton, died April 9, 1925, and on the 13th of the following month she fell and broke her hip. Since that time she made her home with her son, Bruce, till June of last year. There are many relatives and friends that will miss her cheerfulness and optimism, but she is past pain and tears and we would not have it otherwise.
