Lizton - The third time in the last year the death angel has visited homes in the same community, adjoining neighbors, and removed the head of the household. The passing of John T. Hocker, age eighty-two, Monday, near midnight was almost without warning. He had spent the day performing small duties around his farm home, assisted in the evening chores and retired in apparent usual health. He had twice been trustee of Union township, was noted for his integrity and was a trustee of the Methodist church of which he was a member. Two sons and four daughters survive. Funeral services, Wednesday afternoon, were in charge of the Rev. U. G. Abbott, of Colfax, assisted by the pastor, the Rev. N. W. Crider. Burial was in K. of P. cemetery.
