MINOR HILL, Tenn.--A Giles County construction worker blasted his wife with a shotgun and then took his own life after disagreement shortly before noon yesterday in a tavern near here, authorities said.
Giles County Coroner Tommy Erwin identified the couple as Bobby Hargrove, 30, and Peggy Ann Alsup Hargrove, 33, of the Anthony Hill community near here.
ERWIN RULED it murder-suicide.
He quoted witnesses as saying that Hargrove entered the Gatlin Cafe on the Salem Road about 11:15 a.m. yesterday, asked her to leave and that she refused.
Joint services will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Carr-Erwin Funeral Home. Burial for Mrs. Hargrove will be in Jackson Cemetery near here.
Her survivors include a son, Jackie Lynn Morris, Athens, Ala.; a daughter, Mrs. Sheila Mankins, Elkmont, Ala.; a brother, Tommy Alsup, Minor Hill; a sister, Mrs. Geraldine Rutherford, Mooney, Ill.
Burial for Hargrove will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Hargrove, Prospect community; five brothers, Junior and Wayem (sic Wayne), Prospect, James, Nashville, David, Fayetteville, and Jimmy Hargrove, Pulaski; six sisters, Mrs. Morris Holder, Prospect, Mrs. Aubrey Strange and Mrs. Harvey George, Nashville, Mrs. Bobby Jo Robinson, Germany, Mrs. Fred Bolden, Ardmore, and Mrs. Barry Hodges, Elkton.
