SAMUEL R. CARRASCO
SILVER CITY, N.M.--Rosary for Samuel R. Carrasco, 58, of Silver City, will be held at 7 p.m. today at San Jose Catholic Church.
Mass will be celebrated at the church at 10 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Alfred Sartor of San Jose Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be at Santa Catarina Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by West Funeral Home Inc.
Mr. Carrasco died Saturday (July 9, 1994) at an Albuquerque hospital.
He was born March 17, 1936, in Carlsbad to Catarino and Marcela Carrasco, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by one son, Sammy Carrasco Jr., in 1979.
In October 1954, he and Teresa Hinojos married in Carlsbad.
Mr. Carrasco worked as a heavy equipment operator for several construction companies in Silver City and as a farmer in Loving.
He was a member of San Jose Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa H. Carrasco, of Central, N.M.; four sons, Abel Carrasco and Daniel Carrasco, both of Silver City, and Alfred Carrasco and Gabriel Carrasco, both of Carlsbad; six daughters, Jane C. Caballero, of Deming, Manuela Carrasco, Diana Carrasco and Lupita Clifton, all of Silver City, and Cathy Carrasco and Melinda Carrasco, both of Carlsbad; one brother, Catarino R. Carrasco of Arizona; four sisters, Lucy Merjil, of Phoenix, Ariz., Dina Leon Carrasco and Dora Carrasco, both of California, and Dahlia Carrasco of Loving; and 20 grandchildren.
