CATARINO CARRASCO
Services are pending at West Funeral Home for Catarino O. Carrasco, 90, Sun City, Ar. Mr. Carrasco died Wednesday in Sun City.
He was born on Feb. 29, 1900, in Mexico. When he was seven years old his family moved to Barstow, Texas. In 1912 they moved to Loving and worked as share croppers at Pardue Farms and helped to clear the land for farming.
In 1919, Mr. Carrasco began farming on his own in the Loving area. Later, he worked on various farms in the area. Mr. Carrasco retired in 1978 and continued to make his home in Carlsbad. He moved to Sun City in 1988.
Survivors include two sons, Samuel R. Carrasco, Loving, Catarino R. Carrasco Jr., El Mirage, Ariz.; four daughters, Delia Carrasco, Loving, Mrs. Joe Mergjil, Litchfield Park, Ariz., Dena Leon, Corcoran, Calif., Dora Carrasco, Los Angeles, Calif.; two brothers, Salamoe Carrasco, Loving, Paulo Carrasco, Redford Texas; six sisters, Mrs. Raul Rodriguez and Mrs. Angelita Hensley, both of Carlsbad, Mrs. Francisco Olguin, Otis, Petra Gonzales, Loving, Maria Ruiz, Ridley, Calif., Manuela Hernandez, Oregon, 32 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren.

Rosary services for Catarino O. Carrasco are to be held today at 7 p.m. at San Jose Catholic Church. Mr. Carrasco died Wednesday in an Arizona hospital. He was 90.
A funeral Mass is to be said at 10 a.m. Monday at San Jose Catholic Church with the Rev. John Elmer celebrating the Mass. Burial is to follow in Santa Catarina Cemetery.
Mr. Carrasco is to lie in state at West Funeral Home from 1-5 p.m. today, at which time he will be taken to San Jose Catholic Church.
Pallbearers for the Mass are to be Kevin Carrasco, Abel Carrasco, Mario Merjil, Ben Leon, Danny Leon and Danny Carrasco.
