Elaine Butterfield Adams, 65, passed away quietly Nov 15, 2002 at her daughter's home where her family had cared for her for many years.
May our dear precious mother and grandmother finally rest in peace. Elaine suffered many years with heart disease.
Elaine was born May 4, 1937 in Salt Lake City to Edward A. Butterfield and Annie Emily Gygi. Married Eldon T. Adams Feb 18, 1956, and had four children.
In 1975 Eldon and Elaine opened the first Amber Restaurant; they owned and operated this for many years until 1988 when Eldon and son's continued to operate successful businesses.
Elaine felt her greatest success in life was her children and grandchildren, and was proud to tell anyone that. Much of her joy came to her through her grandchildren who all will greatly miss their grandma. Her grandchildren, Samuel, Mollie, Emily, Ashley, Nicole, Missy, Kyle, Travis, Kristie, and Kindra helped a great deal with grandma's care in her declining years. She waited to pass on for them as if to say a special good-bye.
A special thanks to her daughter, Kathy, Brent, and their children for loving and caring for her till the end. Elaine is a member of the LDS Church.
Survived by her children, Scott E (Tina) Adams, Kathy A (Brent) Miller, Jeff L (Adrienne) Adams, Randy J (Paige) Adams, all of Salt Lake; 10 grandchildren; two brothers; and five sisters. Preceded in death by parents and siblings.
Graveside services will be Tues. Nov 19, 2002, 2 p.m. Taylorsville Cemetery (4500 S. Redwood Rd). Friends may call Mon. 6-8 p.m. Redwood Memorial Estates (6500 S. Redwood Rd).
