Death Claims Bountiful Woman, 81
BOUNTIFUL – Mrs. Allie Mae Pace Holbrook, 81, 92 W. Center St., Bountiful, widow of a prominent Davis County businessman, died of natural causes Saturday at 9:30 p.m. at her residence. MRS. HOLBROOK had been active in the Bountiful Betterment Club, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Daughters of Utah Pioneers, and the Jassamine Literary Club. She was born Feb. 9, 1870, in Bountiful, a daughter of Edwin M. and Mary Brown Pace. She was married April 20, 1900, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple to Ira Cook Holbrook. MR. HOLBROOK helped organize the Holbrook-Smedley Furniture and Undertaking Co. He later organized and was president of the Union State Bank of Bountiful, which later merged with the Bountiful State Bank of which he was an officer. Mr. Holbrook died in September, 1945.
MRS. HOLBROOK is survived by six daughters and two sons: Mrs. J. Rulon (Vera) Hales, Mrs. Clyde A. (Thelma) Waddoups and Mrs. Earl C. (Fern) Mountford, all of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Frank J. (Edna) Hatch and Mrs. Carl Evan (Jetta) Moss, Bountiful; Mrs. James A. (Mary) Knecht, New Jersey; Ira E. Holbrook, Salt Lake City; Frank J. Holbrook; Bountiful; 24 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren.
