Deseret News, Sunday, Sept. 27 1998. Obituary: Frank Jay Holbrook, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, passed away September 24, 1998 at his home in Bountiful, Utah. Born in Bountiful, August 23, 1916 to Ira C. and Allie Mae Pace Holbrook; the youngest of eight children. Courted and married his high school sweetheart, Josephine Whitesides, September 23, 1937 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.Frank received his education at LDS Business College and the University of New York. Together with Josephine, he owned and operated Brooks Fabrics for 48 years. Frank, a lifelong member of the LDS Church, always had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and served in many callings. Frank had limitless strength and love for his family.

He is survived by his wife, Joey; three daughters, Sydna Kay (Ron) Pope of Clinton, Tennessee; Julie Anne (Allan) Mann of Bountiful, Utah; Frankie Jo (Ron) Garn, Rocklin, California; nine grandchildren, Aimee (Steve) Winegar, Scott (Beth) Pope, Kristin (Jeffery) Porter, Mikel (Angie) Mann, Paul (Jennifer) Mann, Jamie (Christopher) Lewis, Zachary Garn, Eliza Garn, Bridger Garn; and 12 great-grandchildren. Also survived by his brother, Ira Holbrook, and sisters, Jetta Moss, Fern Mountford, and Mary Knecht. A special thanks to CNS Hospice Care (Blake, Bia, and Mellisa-we love you). Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 30, 1998 at 12 noon at the Bountiful Hills Chapel, 1190 East Bountiful Hills Drive, Bountiful, Utah. Family and friends may call at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, on September 29, 1998 from 6-8 p.m. and at the Ward from 10:45 - 11:45 a.m. Wednesday prior to services. Interment, Bountiful City Cemetery.
