WEST JORDAN - Matilde "Matty" Alba, age 21, died Dec. 25, 1992 from injuries received in an automobile accident near Uvalde, Texas.

Born November 30, 1971 in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico to Israel and Matilde Hernandez Alba. Matty was a member of the LDS Church and was awaiting her mission call. She served as a Merrie Miss Primary teacher, taught the Beehive class and was serving as assistant librarian. She graduated from Hillcrest High School and was attending Salt Lake Community College to become a legal assistant and then an attorney.

Survivors: parents, West Jordan; sister, Guadalupe; brothers, Israel Jr.; Edwardo E.; Luis B. all West Jordan; grandparents, Jesus and Victoria Hernandez, Uvalde, Texas; also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services Thursday, December 31, 1992, at 11 a.m. in the Midvale 9th LDS Ward Chapel, 642 Jackson St. (8300 So. 300 West) Friends may call at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, Wednesday 6-8 p.m. and Thursday at the church from 9:45-10:45 a.m.

Interment, Midvale City Cemetery.
