Elizabeth C Whitmore Lind, 90, died peacefully at her home on Dec. 6, 1992. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, neighbor and friend.

Born April 23, 1902 in Midvale, Utah to Samuel Moroni and Elizabeth Letitia Grange Whitmore. Married Leslie Ammaron Lind in the Logan LDS Temple August 11, 1926; he preceded her in death in 1976. Following her parents early death Elizabeth helped make a home for her brothers and sisters and has continued to be the loving matriarch of her extended family. Always serving and teaching Elizabeth was a school teacher and active in the PTA; a member of Midvale and Salt Lake County Girl Scout Councils. An initial organizer of 4-H Clubs in Midvale, Community Surpervisor for 11 years, leader for 17 years, president of County 4-H Leaders Association, recipient of Farm Bureau 4-H Leaders Award and State 4-H Alumni Recognition Award.

A life long active member of the LDS Church, she served in numerous positions in Relief Society, genealogy, Sunday School and MIA. Fulfilled a mission with her husband to Australia and New Zealand and worked as an ordinance worker in the Salt Lake and New Zealand LDS Temples. Actively involved in the Midvale Historical Society and the Midvale City Museum. A founding member of the Midvale Development Council. Honored in 1964 as Midvale Mother of the Year, and in 1991 when she was inducted into the Midvale Hall of Honors.

Survived by son and his wife, Don Leslie and Kathleen, Smithfield; daughters, Charlene, Provo; Kathleen, Midvale; seven grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; brother, Rex Whitmore; sisters, Melba Latimer, Grace Voyce, Sammie Voyce, all Sandy; Esther Jensen, Salt Lake City; Leda Young, Monticello.

Funeral services Thursday, December 10, 1992, 1 p.m. in the Midvale 6th LDS Ward Chapel 425 Jackson St. (8150 South 250 West). Friends may call at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, Wednesday 6-8 p.m. and Thursday at the church from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.

Interment, Midvale City Cemetery.
