Roberta was born August 7, 1915 in Midvale, Utah, the seventh of eight daughters born to Robert Stacy Lindsay and Alice Edwards Lindsay.
She attended Jordan High School and received a B.S. Degree from the University of Utah. She also did graduate work at the BYU, Utah State and the U of U.
She married Chris K. Steadman June 2, 1942 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died March 20, 1991.
Roberta retired as an elementary school teacher after 40 years in Jordan School District. She was a member of N.E.A., U.E.A., and J.E.A. She was also active in B.P.W. and D.U.P.
She held many teaching positions in the LDS Church. She also served an LDS Mission in Vancouver, B.C. Roberta's artistic talents with oil painting and ceramics will always be remembered.
She is survived by one sister, Cora Ward, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, six sisters: Cleo Lindsay, Frances Tame, Fern Francom, Eliza Lindsay, Clarissa Graham and Emogene James.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 1, 1994, at 1 p.m. in the Bellview Ward Chapel, 9501 So. Poppy Lane, Sandy. There will be a viewing at the chapel one hour prior to services and at Goff Mortuary 8090 So. State St., Midvale, on Monday from 6-8 p.m. Interment, Midvale City Cemetery.
