Leona Marie Martens, 101, died Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at Sunny Hill Care Center in Tama from complications of age. Services will be 10:30 AM Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Chelsea by Deacon Joe Behounek. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 PM Sunday at the church where there will be a Vigil service at 6:30. Hrabak Funeral Home in Belle Plaine in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by a daughter, Dolores Asmussen and son, Donald (Dorothy) Martens, all of Tama; sisters, Lila Foster of Las Vegas and Evelena Dale of Brooklyn; brother, Floyd McIlrath of Keystone; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
