Anderson Moore was the son of James J Moore and Margaret Wade. He married Sarah Ann Hiatt on 21 Feb 1848 in Highland County, Ohio.

Anderson was a veteran of the Civil War and enlisted as a Private on 5 Nov 1864 at the age of 42 years. He mustered in Co F 12th Iowa Infantry on 5 Nov 1864 and mustered out on 21 Jul 1865 at Louisville, Kentucky.

Anderson and Sarah had twelve children: Henry, Mary H, William M, Alice, Nancy, Horace G, Lizzie B, Florence, Margaret, Eddie, Lula B, and Emma A.

Anderson died in 1878 at age 55 years 11 months. After her husband's death, Sarah lived with her children in Iowa, Kansas, and Nebraska. She died in 1913 in Holt County, Nebraska and at the time was living with sons Henry and Horace.
