Harvey J. Creger

CLINTON--Harvey J. Creger, age 67, of Clinton died May 31, 1996 at home. On Jan. 25, 1929, he was born in Macon Township, the son of Fred and Virginia (Fielder) Creger. On Nov. 3, 1971, he married Grace McHenney in Clinton. She preceded him in death on Dec. 3, 1990. Harvey was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army and was awarded the two Purple Hearts. He was a member of the Tecumseh V.F.W. He was also the sexton of Brookside Cemetery in Tecumseh for many years. He is survived by two brothers, Gerald and Donald, both of Tecumseh; one sister, Freda Brighton of Tecumseh, three step children, Shirley Ofiaro Maloney of Northville, Mrs. David (Susan) Ofiaro Banks of Charles, S.C., and Larry Ofiaro of California; several grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, four brothers, and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh, with the Rev. Robert Riddle officiating. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, Tecumseh, with Military graveside services conducted by the Tecumseh V.F.W. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. until time of services on Thuesday at the funeral home.
