Bruce was a lifelong resident of Portville (he was probably born in Portville but obit does not say) and owner of the Portville Mills. Bruce died at his winter home in Florida. He took a active part in civic and fraternal life in the Portville community. He was a member of the Portville Presbyterian Church and served as a elder for a number of years. Widow Nattie, four daughters, Mrs. Robert Parish, Portville, Mrs. Merian L. Langworthy, Port Arthur, TX, Mrs. Seyward Powell, Mount Clair, NJ, and Mrs. Harold Tapp of Portville. Three sons, Robert Bruce, Pittsburgh, PA, James, a student at Bryant-Stratton Collage in Buffalo, NY, and Theodore, a student at Penn State Collage, PA. Two brothers, Fred of Portville and Robert of Buffalo. Three sisters, Mrs. Henry Hoppe, Long Island City, NY, Mrs Arthur Lytle, Angelica, NY and Mrs Will T. Keller of Olean, NY. Funeral was held at his home on Maple St. in Portville and the church, Feb. 17, 1931.
