Born in the Pecan community, northeast of Breckenridge. Her early school days were in the one room Pecan School. She graduated from Breckenridge High school in 1928 and attended College of Industrial Arts in Denton [now known as Texas Women's University].
She married John Edward Power on 6 August 1930.
She taught school in the Baker Community in Parker County.
She authored a cookbook of her favorite recipes mixed with family stories. Her autobiography is an excellent source of Stephens County History.
