I DO NOT TRANSFER OUTSIDE OF FaG RULES
TRANSFERS PER FINDAGRAVE
Determine if you really need the memorial transferred to you for management. You can add photos and suggest updates without managing a memorial. With millions of members, there will be many overlapping family trees and it would be impossible for all members to manage their entire tree.
Memorials are transferred for direct relatives within four generations. This includes your spouse, siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Always explain your relationship in the request! Keep in mind that the memorial manager may also be related to the memorial and may not make the transfer. You may also want to include your specific interest in the memorial.
First I want to thank all the people who contribute info or help correct info. But please if I disagree with you do not reply with a snarky answer. I am on this site often but if I am unable to prove the info sent I will request proof so don't get all bent out of shape about it and please read the FaG community rules.
Use the 'EDIT' tab - I will gladly add pertinent info to the Bio Section where it belongs. Sometimes I might request proof so do not be offended, just trying to keep the memorials accurate.
Here are some things that you are prohibited from doing and that may endanger your Find a Grave membership:
Do not post, transmit, or display content which is protected by copyright or trademark (i.e, Newspapers & obituary notices are usually copyrighted) or that does not belong to you and that you do not have authorization for use from the owner of the copyright or trademark, including but not limited to photos, published obituaries, and other information posted in memorials.
Do not post, share, transmit, upload, or display content which contains personal, proprietary or confidential information that you do not have a right to transmit. Examples include, without limitation, posting any photos of living individuals without their permission or posting anyone else's sensitive financial information, home or work address, phone number, or email address without their consent. You are also prohibited from posting or uploading court documents that have been sealed or any other documents that are legally prohibited from being republished or publicly displayed.
Please go to the bottom of the page and click on Community Rules - Findagrave has rules & guidelines that are continuously being abused and the below is the one I receive the most.
Please limit the number of 'edits' you send on a daily basis - one contributor sent me 80 edits in 1 day. Remember there are others that send edits.
"Do not abuse tools for suggesting corrections or additions or for messaging other Find a Grave members, for example, but not limited to, submitting excessive unwarranted corrections or repeatedly sending unwanted messages to another Find a Grave user."
The Polk County, Tennessee Cemetery Grave Memorials began being posted in 2001 and continue to be updated daily by myself and other members of the Polk County Genealogical Historical Society as well as other volunteers who generously devote their time to research. Because these memorials are managed by family members of Polk Co.(myself included) the Polk County Genealogical Historical Society, transfers will not be made outside the FaG Guidelines as there are many descendants that have the same lineage. We suggest you create a Virtual Cemetery for your ancestors instead.
Primary research names: WOMBLE, STANDRIDGE, RYMER, KIRKLAND, WHITE, TALLENT, VAUGHN, McELROY and I am related to the majority of the First Families in Polk Co., TN.
