James "Terry" Dearing, 88, of Hanover, PA, formerly of Taneytown, died Sunday evening, June 25, 1995, at Homewood at Plum Creek, Hanover, after an extended illness.

He was born June 8, 1907, in Elkton, VA and was the son of the late William Thomas and Victoria Baker Dearing. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth Marie Morris Dearing, who died December 11, 1990.

Before retiring, he was a sheet metal worker for Local 100, Baltimore. He served in the Navy during WWII. He was a member of Bethel Assembly of God in Littlestown, PA.

Surviving are a son, Terry D. Dearing of Sykesville; three daughters, Saundra Jean Leatherwood of Wagner, OK, Brenda L. Pickett of Hanover, and Diane P. Caldwell of Frederick; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services wil be held at 11 am Thursday at the Fletcher Funeral Home in Westminister, with his pastor, the Rev. James Ruddy officiating. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park.
