Leah Etta Freemyer (my great-grandmother), the daughter of Joseph L. Freemyer and Mary Elder, married Jacob Daniel Locker, the son of Rev. Phillip and Martha Locker. They were married on November 10th, 1877 in Jay County, Indiana. They had eleven children, six sons and five daughters.

The 1860 US-Census for Madison Twp, Jay County, Indiana list Leah Freemyer age 1, living with her parents, father Joseph age 35 and mother Mary age 36. Also listed are her six siblings, sister Nancy age 14, sister Sarah age 12, brother George age 10, sister Martha age 7, sister Mary age 5, sister Rebecca age 3.

The 1870 US-Census for Madison Twp, Jay County, Indiana list: Head of Household, Joseph L. Freemier age 46. Wife, Mary Freemier age 48. Nine children; Nancy J. age 24-OH, George S. age 21-OH, Martha A. age 18-IN, Mary A. age 16-IN, Rebecca age 14-IN, Leah age 12-IN, Amanda age 8-IN, William age 6-IN, and Margreat age 1-IN.
