She was a Mother and also a teacher for 21 years – the last years teaching at Stratford High School for the Spring Branch School District. She was a member of the Eight Church of Christ, Scientist, Houston, Texas. She attended Conners Jr. College and graduated from Northeastern State University of Oklahoma. She also attended the University of Texas and received her masters degree from the University of Houston. She was a member of the Delphians, The American Association of University Women, the Opti-Mrs. Club of Fort Worth, A Beaumont Supper Club, and the Nottingham Forest Women's Club Investment Group.

Devoted loving Mother and Grandmother, she is survived by four daughters and their families: Dr. Cynthia Jordan and her husband Dr. Larry Jordan, of Winnepeg, Canada; Cheryl Senter of Houston; Amy Jill Clements and her husband Michael of Kilgore; Robyn Pledger and her husband Chris of Sante Fe, Texas; ten grandchildren, Caleb, Tamara, Breanna, Chad, Daniel, Amy Karel, Michael Jr., Jared, Hayden, and Dustin, two great grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Kaden, with a third expected from granddaughter Breanna; brother; John C.
