Herbert B. Cromwell Jr., 64, of Wiscasset, passed away Sunday, September 30, at his residence with his family by his side.
Born on May 16, 1937 in Westport Island, he was the son of Herbert and Frances (Austin) Cromwell. He attended the Old School House across from the Doggett Rd in Westport Island.
Mr. Cromwell started his working career digging worms, claming and lobstering. During the winter season, he worked at his uncle Ed's sawmill in Westport Island. He also worked in the excavation business for several years with his brother Frank and logging with his cousin Alfred, before returning to the lobstering industry.
He enjoyed cribbage, bowling, hunting, fishing, four wheeling, spending time with his children, grandchildren, family and friends.
Mr. Cromwell was predeceased by his parents, brother Charlie Cromwell and sister Virginia Anderson.
Survivors include daughters, Laurie and Julie Cromwell both of Wiscasset, Holly Lagner of Woolwich, Melissa Cromwell of Minot; sons, Andrew Cromwell of Woolwich, Ronnie Cromwell of Topsham; brothers, Calvin, Judson and Frank Cromwell all of Westport Island; sister, Marjorie Pooler of Wiscasset; 11 grandchildren; one aunt; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
