Dr. Humbert Alphonse Tynes was born in Tishomingo County, Mississippi to Dr. Henry Leonidus Tynes and Mattie L. Rogers. He married first Mary Vanette Eddards in Louisiana and they had two children: Maureen Vanettie Tynes and Humbert Wilson Tynes. Mary Vanette died 27 February 1913 within two weeks of the death of her two month old son Humbert. Dr. Humbert then married Lillie Morgan January 14 1919. They had children Hilda Valerie Tynes 1920-1983 (married Alex Stewart Brabham); Ivadell Tynes 1922-2001 (unmarried); Fay Catherine Tynes 1924-2002,(married Russell Hebert); her twin Ray Alphonse Tynes
1924-2007, (married Lorene Marie Meyer); Nelda Louise Tynes 1927-1996 (married Jehu Welton Brabham); Merlin Morgan Tynes 1931-2005 (married Louise Nesome); and Huey Long Tynes 1934 (married Nelwynn Hatcher and both living)
