OBITUARY OF EMMAGENE MOORE / MRS JOHN MOORE
Mrs. John Moore mother of Mrs. Alonzo Ferman, of Brockway R.D., Pa. died at her home Monday May 21, 1928 after an illness of about 9 weeks, aged almost 78 years. Mrs. Moore had been an invalid for years, but in the last few months developed complications which, despite all that loving care and skill could do resulted in her death at the time mentioned above.
Mrs. Moore has been a resident of this vicinity for over 43 years and is one of the best know, and esteemed women of the community. She leaves many friends who regret to hear of her death and who sympathize very deeply with the family in their great bereavement.
Emmagene Thomas was born in Hamburg, Erie County, New York October 19 1859. She was the daughter of John and Susan Thomas.
She was married to C.F. Dunbar on June 10, 1872 at Springbrook, N.Y. Mr. Dunbar died in 1875.
She was again united in marriage with John Moore of Toby, Pa., in1888 the marriage taking place in Kersey, Pa. Mr. Moore passed away at their home in Crenshaw in 1906. Since then Mrs. Moore has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Alonzo Ferman.
She is survived by five children, C. R. Moore of Ridgway, Mrs. William Hafner of Brockway, Mrs. L.J. McMann of Erie, Frank B. Dunbar of Dormont, Pittsburgh, Pa. and Mrs. Alonzo Ferman of Brockway ,R.D.
One son Bert Moore preceded her in death. She is also survived by one brother Frank Thomas of Crenshaw,
Pa.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church. The funeral was held Thursday at 2 PM from the home of the deceased near Crenshaw. Rev. D.A. Platt of Meadville conducted the services assisted by Rev. L.L. Tait and Rev. D. Ralph Dunn, both of Brockway. Interment was made in the family burial plot in the Wildwood Cemetery.
