A gathering celebrating Jack's life was held July 27 in Arizona. Graveside rites will be held at National Cemetery, Arsenal Island, at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the American Heart Association, 2929 S. 48th St., Tempe, AZ 85282.
He was born in Galesburg and graduated from Rock Island High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.
Jack owned Dorman's Jewelry in Rock Island until he moved to Arizona in 1979, where he became a findings distributor in the jewelry industry.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Dorman; son, Jeff Dorman; sisters, Elizabeth Weaver and Bobbie Sassano; and grandchildren, Christine Christopherson, Shell Dorman, Jackie Dorman and Jarryd Dorman. He was preceded in death by his sons, James Richard and J. Scott Dorman.
