A. John Angerer, seventy-three, retired foundryman and owner of the Girard Foundry, a resident of 217 Mechanic St., Girard, died Saturday evening at Hamot Hospital following an extended illness.

Born August 2, 1889, in Erie, to George Anthony and Catherine Mary {Braun} Angerer. Mr. Angerer had resided in the Girard area for the past 50 years. He was a member of the St. John's Catholic Church in Girard and former assistant police chief in the Girard Borough.

Surviving are his wife, Edna Kratzke Angerer; a daughter Mrs. James {Leona} Hall, of Lake City; two sons, Ralph and Frederick Angerer of Girard; a sister, Mrs. Barbara Burkell, of Erie; and nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Friends called at the Wallace C. Mulligan Funeral Home, Girard, Monday and Thursday. A Requiem High Mass at St. John's Catholic Church in Girard was held with burial in the St. John's Cemetery.
