DEATH: Marlin Haynes, age 86, died on Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005, at Prince William Hospital in Manassas. Marlin was born on March 13, 1918, in Freeling, Va., to the late Russell and Hessie (nee Mullins) Haynes. He was a member of Yorkshire Free Will Baptist Church and a member of the Brentsville Loyal Moose Lodge. He was one of 18 children and enjoyed gardening, fishing, and hunting. Mr. Haynes also was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Haynes rendered home health care to his wife for four years. He was preceded in death by his wife Bessie May Haynes. Survivors include his five children, Roger Ellis Haynes of Wardensville, W.Va., Ronald Lee Haynes of Timberville, Va., Jerry Allen Haynes of Manassas, Jimmy Marlin Haynes of Occoquan, and Karen Marie Haynes Ormsby of Manassas; six siblings, Julia McFall of Bellville, Ohio, Tollie Haynes of Rustburg, twin sisters Winnie Mullins and Minnie Phipps of Clintwood, Joyce Willis of Timberville, and Augusta Adams of Alexandria; eight grandchildren, Ronald Lee Haynes Jr., Roger Ellis Haynes Jr., Jerry Allen Haynes Jr., Brad Allen Haynes, Deena Michelle Jackson, Amy Lee Haynes, Kelly Marie Froney, and James Tanner Haynes; and eight great-grandchildren, Jacob, Mitchell, Lucas, Cameron, Sydney, Haley Marie, Calley and Alana. Visitation will be held at Yorkshire Free Will Baptist Church, 7620 Chestnut St., Manassas, on Saturday, Jan. 15, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with services starting at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Woodbine Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Lonnie D. Salyers officiating.
