Vannie Lee Crews, 92, passed away December 29, 2010. She was born on June 5, 1918 in Hoboken, Georgia to Mr. Willie Raymond Lee and Mrs. Mary Emma Hickox Lee. She was a member of Faith Memorial Baptist Church of Jacksonville, FL. She was a loving Nana to her family and friends. She enjoyed being a School Teacher for many years, and enjoyed time on the family farm. Her grandchildren filled her heart with lots of joy and love. Nana will be dearly missed, but never forgotten by her family and friends. Vannie is preceded in death by her husband, Farley H. Crews and their daughter, Kathy Farlene Crews. She is survived by her son, Howard Craig Crews (Nellene); 3 daughters, Patty Magee (Woodrow "Woody"), Janet McKnight (David), and Jennifer Davis (Mark) ; brother, Jerome Lee; her 4 sisters, Zoie Meadows, Mary Wainright, Hazel Justice, and Susie Sims; 6 grandchildren, Valorie, Mandy, Bethany, Katie, Richard and John Paul; 8 great-grandchildren, Madison, Lily, Bradley, Ronan, Taylor, Alexander, Darian and Levi; along with many family members and friends. The family visitation to receive friends will be held on Sunday, January 2, 2011 from 4:30pm until 6:30 pm at Hardage-Giddens Edgewood Funeral Home, 729 South Edgewood Avenue, Jacksonville, FL. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, 10:00am, January 3, 2011 at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home Chapel, followed by a Graveside Service at 1:00pm, High Bluff Cemetery, Hoboken, Georgia. Burial will be in High Bluff Cemetery.
