Miss Susan Rebecca Carrier of Summerville and more recently a resident of Jefferson Manor, died in the Brookville Hospital on Saturday, July 30, at the age of 97.
Born in Summerville on May 3, 1886, she was the daughter of Charles Edward and Emily Carrier Carrier.
She had been employed for many years as a bookkeeper for the Carrier Coal Company. Miss Carrier was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Summerville Presbyterian Church, where she played the organ for over 50 years. She was a life-long subscriber to the Brookville newspapers and enjoyed reading them throughout her many years.
Funeral serviceds were held Monday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. from the William R. Curry Funeral Home, Summerville. Rev. David Stoop officiated and interment was in the Old Carrier Cemetery, Clover Township.
