Goodyk was born on August 30, 1920. She was the daughter of Johannes and Sadie Spoelstra Goodyk. Charlotte married Albert Beyer on February 14, 1940 at Sully, Iowa. This union produced five children: Gene Edwin, an infant son, Mary Ann, John Rolland and Julie Elyn. Following their marriage Charlotte and Albert farmed near Prairie City, Iowa. In 1950 they moved to Pella, Iowa and in 1960 they moved to Oskaloosa, Iowa where Albert operated service stations. Eleven years later they moved to Michigan. They resided in Grand Rapids until moving to Muskegon. Albert passed away in 1985. Following his death Charlotte moved to Jenison, Michigan where she lived until moving to Zeeland. Zeeland, Michigan was her residence the remainder of her lifetime where she was cared for until the time of her death. She passed away on Saturday morning, November 14, 2009, at the age of 89 years. Charlotte is survived by her children: Gene and Bonnie Beyer of Benson, Arizona, Philip Kinnisten who lives in North Carolina, John and Stephanie Beyer of Holland, Michigan, and Julie Aumueller of Grand Rapids, Michigan; as well as her grandchildren: Sandra (Beyer) Nederveld, Gary Beyer, Matthew Kinnisten, Andrew Kinnisten, Jonathan Beyer, Claire Beyer, Jessica Aumueller, Christopher Aumueller; and ten great-grandchildren. Three sisters : Adrianna (Gerrit) Roose of Pella, Iowa, Johanna Spykerman of Holland, Michigan and Louise (Wilbur) Nikkel of Pella survive her along with a brother-in-law: Joel Spykerman of Holland, and three sisters-in-law: Freda (Wiebe) Goodyk and Esther (Case) Goodyk both of Pella, and Gertrude (Peter) Goodyk of Newton, Iowa; as well as numerous nephews and nieces. Charlotte was the last remaining member of her generation in her late husband Albert's family. She was preceded in death by him, an infant son, her daughter, Mary Kinnisten, who died in 2003, a daughter-in-law, Joyce (Gene) Beyer who died in 2002; her parents, Johannes and Sadie Goodyk; her five brothers: Wiebe Goodyk, Cornelius Goodyk, Peter Goodyk, Henry Goodyk and his wife, Betty, Jacob Goodyk and his wife, Wilma; a sister, Tena (Gerrit) Roose; and two brothers-in-law: Gerrit Roose and Wilbur Nikkel.
