Bringhurst Resident, 91, Expires Sunday Evening
FLORA—Final rites will be at two o'clock Wednesday at the Bringhurst Methodist church for John E. Ayres, 91, retired farmer. His death occurred Sunday evening at 7:30 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Esta Foster, Bringhurst. He had been bedfast several weeks. Friends may call at the Carter funeral home. The Reverend A. A. Schenck will officiate at final rites and burial will be in Maple Lawn cemetery. Born in Carroll county June 29, 1861, he was the son of James and Ellen Quinn Ayres. He always lived in the Bringhurst community. His marriage was to Emma Hamm on Oct. 5, 1885. Her death occurred in 1936. He was a member of the Bringhurst Methodist church.
Surviving children are: Mrs. Esta Foster, Bringhurst; Elmer Ayres, Brownsville, Texas; Basil L. Ayres, Flora; Mrs. Maude Wood, Muncie; Mrs. Minnie Ross, Bringhurst; Ancil Ayres, Marion; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, George.
