Born in 1867 near Bringhurst, he was the son of Jim and Ellen Ayres. his wife, the former Larinda Bard, preceded him in death. Survivors are one son, Bert Ayres, Bringhurst; a brother, John Ayres, Bringhurst; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren. One daughter, Mrs. Hazel Garrison, died November 11, 1946. Four brothers and a sister also preceded him in death.
